WELCOME TO THE WORLD WHERE LIV LIVES

HI, I'M LIV, A MOTION DESIGNER AND ANIMATION DIRECTOR FROM THE UK
and I specialise in creating original animation content that makes my clients stand out.
I have been moving pixels about for both broadcast and web for remarkable brands and creating joyful animation for over 15 years.
The aim of my work - to create something that puts smiles on people’s faces.
If I am not doing that, then, obviously,
I am not doing my job properly
SO, WHO IS LIV?

Based an hour west of London, in the beautiful English countryside (via growing up in Helsinki, Wellington and Singapore), I have been fascinated with animation since I were a wee nipper.
Some people might call it a problem, but I saw it more as an obsession. I grew up with Count Duckula as my idol, posters of Wallace and Gromit adorned on my bedroom walls and endless hours spent in front of the telly learning life lessons from Homer Simpson and the gang.
So going into animation was, well, meant to be really.
After art college, my never ending curosity took me over to Hamburg, Germany, to work in the motion department for a digital advertising company. Although I couldn’t speak a word of German (aber jetzt ich kann es sprechen 😉 ), my determination to make something move and communicate ideas and messages meant that the language thing was a problem that "future Liv" could sort out later.
Fast forward, 10 years have passed by, and I am now back in the UK (in my little office in Hampshire with my dog, Reg). This allows me to meet and work with a wide range of clients, creating solutions for the fields of advertising, broadcast and illustration.

FAQs
WHAT IS MOTION GRAPHICS?
Glad you ask. Don’t worry about asking, I have to explain this every other week to my folks who still don’t get it (even after the 100th explanation) To me, it’s bringing visuals to life with animation. Whether that is a character, a text, a logo, branding, whatever.
WHY DO YOU ANIMATE?
To put it simply, I love it! It's fascinating. Think about - it is drawings coming to life. How crazy is that? Really it shouldn’t be possible but somehow...
HOW MUCH DOES AN ANIMATION COST?
It is the question that EVERY animator gets all the time. To be honest, it's like asking how long a piece of string is. It depends on what you want, its length, what it is required to do, etc...
However, to give you a ball mark 1 minute animation would cost £5-8k. But then again, this figure would depend on factors such as the video's complexity, its length, it's style and how quickly you need it.
How does that sound to you? If you would like to know more, pop on over to the contact page and fill out this form to see if we can make that dream project a reality.
WHAT SOFTWARE DO YOU USE?
It depends on the day and the project - but really whatever is needed to get the job done. Most of the time, if you need something in 2D, good ol’ After Effects is all that is needed. 3D - Cinema4D and Redshift
BUT, WE NEED YOU IN OUR OFFICES...CAN YOU COME IN?
I would love to come and meet you “IRL”. Sometimes, as much as I love my dog, a trip out of the office and meeting new people in the flesh is just what the doctor ordered.
However, if I can not make it to yours (whether it due of location issues or pre-arranged commitments), never fear! I have all the equipment and high speed internet requirements I need here in my little office to make your dream projects happen.
I SEE YOU ARE BASED JUST OUTSIDE LONDON... DO YOU ONLY WORK WITH PEOPLE IN THE UK?
Err...hell no!
The one good thing about Covid (if there's ever a good thing to say about a pandemic) is that it brought us zoom (other video conferencing platforms are available) and has opened up a world of remote working. I have worked with clients in the States, Australia and Germany from my little office in Hampshire, so international barriers are definitely not a problem.
Also, good to know, I also speak German and am currently in the throes of learning Spanish (as I spend at least twice the year in Barcelona visiting family). Language barriers are not a problem to me.
FINALLY, CAN YOU TELL US A JOKE...
How do you find out how heavy the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are?
You give it a weigh, give it a weigh, give it a weigh now
